Discover the Greensand Ridge

Discover Bedfordshire’s Greensand Ridge, crossing the entire breadth of the country - one of the few places in Central England where thin, sandy soils support lowland heathland and acid grassland - distinctive landscapes which support specific wildlife and vegetation and need to be protected to thrive.

The well-wooded, mature and attractive landscape contains many places to visit and offers superb leisure opportunities with the popular Greensand Ridge Walk and Cycle Route running the entire distance.
