Clophill Lakes

The Greensand Trust is delighted to offer a new Nature Reserve at Clophill Lakes featuring otters, sand martins and colourful dragonflies in the wetlands, and skylarks and wildflowers in the grassland areas.  We are now open daily (9am to 6pm) providing public access in a sensitive and sustainable manner which conserves and enhances these emerging habitats, whilst enabling visitors to share in the benefits this very special environment provides.

Please note: dogs on lead and cashless payment only. No cycling or fishing.

Support Clophill Lakes Nature Reserve

Help Us Protect Wildlife, Enhance Habitats and Create a Place for Everyone

Clophill Lakes Nature Reserve has come a long way since our appeal launched in 2021. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we were able to open the site to the public in April 2025 - a milestone we're incredibly proud of.

But our journey is far from complete.

To truly realise the potential of this remarkable landscape, we are continuing to raise vital funds. Your support today will help us enhance habitats, improve access and create meaningful opportunities for people of all ages to connect with nature.

Your donation will help us:

  • Build new spaces for learning, observing and monitoring wildlife, including living willow hides, an outdoor education shelter and safe dipping platforms.
  • Create natural play and engagement areas that spark curiosity and encourage families to explore the outdoors.
  • Improve shelter and seating around the Riverside Café, making it a welcoming spot for rest and reflection.
  • Repair and upgrade pathways damaged by flooding and improve routes that are currently difficult to navigate, ensuring the Reserve is accessible to everyone.

Why your support matters

Clophill Lakes is a sanctuary for wildlife and a place of peace, discovery and wellbeing for the community. Every contribution - large or small - helps us protect this precious landscape and ensures it can be enjoyed for generations to come.

Together, we can create a thriving, resilient Reserve where nature flourishes and people feel inspired, connected and welcome.

Thank you for standing with us and supporting the future of Clophill Lakes Nature Reserve.
