The first three months of 2026 included the completion of our first Youth Ranger scheme at Clophill Lakes, a new toddler play area at Rushmere and the welcome return of our much-loved boardwalk at Clophill. Read more
Autumn months found us hedgelaying, making festive wreaths with kids and decorating a Christmas tree in Clophill using natural materials and fundraising to replace our boardwalk. We received funding for a new toddler play area and towards relacing items on our Fairy Trail and planted trees at Rushmere. Read more
The summer months brought us Bug Lab sessions with our first at Clophill Lakes. We continued putting peat on the map, had our first Heritage Open Day, but a devastating arson attack at Clophill destroyed our boardwalk - fundraising efforts to replace it have been so well supported. Clophill Lakes Nature Reserve opened to the public, the sundial at Stockgrove was replaced, our volunteers enjoyed a celebration BBQ at Rushmere which was once again awarded the coveted Green Flag Award. Read more

Rushmere was once again awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award, we addressed flooding and water quality with our partners, construction works began at Clophill Lakes and it was a good summer for bog pimpernel. Read more
The herons returned to Rushmere, our Youth Rangers graduated, Russell Lower School were named our Greensand Champions and there was a huge push by all to get Clophill Lakes Nature Reserve open by Easter. Read more
Our Putting Peat on the Map project in the Flit Valley is nearing completion, we celebrated 30 years of heathland restoration at Rammamere Heath and the Herons' Hangout play area was completed at Rushmere. Read more

A new release of dormice at a local woodland brought us and the many partners involved a flurry of national promotion. For the annual Greensand Festival in May we organised walks along the length of the Greensand Ridge and our Putting Peat on the map work continued. Read more
This year's Youth Ranger programme in Maulden Wood was celebrated, we inadvertently helped clean up the River Ouzel and we're working with a collaborative partnership to Put Peat on the Map - improving the understanding of peat along the River Flit. Read more
We helped solve a pollution issue in the River Ouzel, began mapping invasive New Zealand pygmyweed and removed several mink from the River Flit. Read more
Swift assemblies delivered to schools, tackling Himalayan balsam, our first grasshopper warbler and wheatear spotted at Clophill, a bumper crop of orchids and a new look for our Rushmere cafe with direct access to the viewing deck. Read more
