    The first three months of 2026 included the completion of our first Youth Ranger scheme at Clophill Lakes, a new toddler play area at Rushmere and the welcome return of our much-loved boardwalk at Clophill. Read more

    Autumn months found us hedgelaying, making festive wreaths with kids and decorating a Christmas tree in Clophill using natural materials and fundraising to replace our boardwalk. We received funding for a new toddler play area and towards relacing items on our Fairy Trail and planted trees at Rushmere. Read more

We continued putting peat on the map, had our first Heritage Open Day, but a devastating arson attack at Clophill destroyed our boardwalk - fundraising efforts to replace it have been so well supported. What we do

Our quarterly reports provide a great overview of the wide variety of work we carry out to conserve and enhance the distinctive landscape, wildlife and history of the Greensand Ridge and wider area, improving access, understanding and enjoyment for the benefit of everyone. See the huge variety of work we carry out to help the environment across the Greensand Country area.

A new release of dormice at a local woodland brought us and the many partners involved a flurry of national promotion. For the annual Greensand Festival in May we organised walks along the length of the Greensand Ridge and our Putting Peat on the map work continued. Read more

Swift assemblies delivered to schools, tackling Himalayan balsam, our first grasshopper warbler and wheatear spotted at Clophill, a bumper crop of orchids and a new look for our Rushmere cafe with direct access to the viewing deck. Read more
