Rushmere Country Park

The Bug Stop was formally named this week by members of the Rushmere Governance Group including Cllr Nigel Carnell, CBC, Jon Balaam, (Director of Development, The Greensand Trust) and Howard Hughes (CBC Active Lifestyles Manager).

Cllr Nigel Carnell remarked:

I am delighted that CBC through its UK SPF fund has been able to support the continued development of this wonderful local family facility. Rushmere is a great local asset and 'The Bug Stop’ will add to its facilities for our youngest visitors. We are so lucky to have such a great place on our doorstep.

The name of the refreshed play area was chosen through a public vote via the Rushmere Facebook page, with the winning name being a suggestion from Tarma Hendrey.

This project was funded by Central Bedfordshire Council and by the government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, administered by Central Bedfordshire Council, which respectively awarded £7,530 and £24,978.
